Dublin, Ireland, 5th November, 2019 — Europagrid’s team will attend the first blockchain global congress Convergence, The Global Blockchain Congress 2019. The event will be held in Málaga, Spain, from 11th till 13th November, at Málaga Trade Fair and Conference Centre (FYCMA). The blockchain expert community will gather in Málaga to discuss blockchain and its impact in sustainability, energy, stable coins, privacy and other disruptive technologies.
The Bank of Japan, the World Trade Organization, the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Economic Forum will participate in a global congress where a direct dialogue will be established to outline the future of the industry.
The official opening ceremony will take place on November 12th and the attendees will have a unique opportunity to learn about blockchain priorities and enjoy with a comprehensive program of activities, panels, workshops, hackathons, and culture events. The day before, November 11st, will be devoted to the “Global Blockchain Challenge” a pioneering initiative around the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
The Congress – organized jointly by the European Commission, the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum, INATBA and Alastria – will bring together key industries and representatives from across the globe to discuss ideas and share experiences and insights into blockchain technology.
Europagrid’s Business Development Manager, Bara Greplova, is the co-chair of the Energy Working Group of INATBA. The group is sponsoring a public expert panel on the topic of ‘The Future of Energy — decentralized and digital?’ where experts from the energy industry, academia, NGO and innovation ecosystem will present their ideas. A private-only event is also organised during the congress in the form of a regulatory roundtable on the topic of ‘The Energy IoT-Layer: Options for introducing interconnected and dynamic Digital Energy Asset Registries into the Energy Sector’. The private session will focus on the technical, regulatory and industry requirements for a Digital Energy Asset Registry, particularly the possibility of Digital Identities for Devices and the issues of data sovereignty, data privacy and data liability.
